Tenter
Used for the drying of washed material, and also the impregnation of chemical finishes, including stain repellants, resins, and softeners.
Scourer
Used for the washing and size removal of a wide range of fabrics, including cotton, wool and polyester.
Singeing
Used for the removal of surface hairs on fabrics, carried out for appearance and also reduces pilling.
Tumbling
Shrinks the cloth in both directions, softening action, and enhances dimensional effects on jacquard woven fabric.
Calendar
Gives a slight polishing effect to cotton cloths. Imparts smoothness to the surface of the material.
Decatizing
Gives a light steam press to the cloth. Mainly carried out on woollen material.
Steaming
Usually used for dress fabrics, softens the material, and helps enhance the design of the cloth.
