FR (Flame Retardant) Backcoating
Using a semi-clear soft compound H&C Whitehead specialise in the flame retardant backcoating of upholstery fabric. The coating is applied using a computerised foaming system, ensuring a consistent and highly regulated supply of compound on the cloth. Together with a stain resist fluorochemical treatment we offer a one-stop-shop process for customers. We also offer facilities to store the goods and despatch directly to the sofa manufacturers. We are currently coating upholstery fabric for a number of familiar high street stores.
The fabric is coated to the British Standard 5852 Ignition source 0+1 Link to British Safety Standards
Tumbleasy
The tumbled finish with easy care properties. Tumbleasy ® has been developed for washable loose covers, and curtain fabrics. Ideal for cottons and cotton rich blends, the cloth is prepared by desizing and washing. The material is then impregnated with a blend of low curing, low formaldehyde resin, and softeners, and then cured in a two oven tumbling machine. The combination of natural shrinkage and the resin application enables it to be washable to around 3% shrinkage. The cloth has easy care properties and excellant 3 Dimensional effects, particularly appparant on jacquard woven fabrics. This finish can also give a luxurious handle to cotton/linen blends, especially when finished off with a calendared process.
